Gurjit Chima is Assistant County Manager for the Office of Human Rights, EEO & ADA. Chima is an attorney with experience serving both the private and public sectors. With more than 10 years in the field, she will join Arlington County with a wealth of knowledge in the areas of employment discrimination, EEO regulations, workplace investigations, employee relations, compliance, and training.

As the Assistant County Manager for Human Rights and EEO, Chima supports and advances important Human Rights initiatives. Her broad portfolio includes overseeing EEO investigations, reasonable accommodations, and initiatives related to advancing and supporting equal opportunity and affirmative action. Chima also serves as the Executive Director of Arlington County’s Human Rights Commission, working to ensure employees, applicants, and residents of Arlington County are treated fairly.

Chima holds a Juris Doctorate (JD) from Seton Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. She is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey and holds a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) certification.
