Ingrid Morroy

Commissioner of Revenue

Ingrid Morroy was elected Arlington Commissioner of Revenue in November 2003, and took office on January 1, 2004. Before her election, Ingrid served as Arlington Deputy Treasurer for eight years. She has nearly twenty years of public and private sector management experience in the areas of public finance, international and domestic banking, small business lending, and human resources. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Computer Information Systems from the University of the District of Columbia, and an MBA from Averett University. She is a Certified Master Commissioner of Revenue, and a graduate of Leadership Arlington.

Born in Holland and raised in Suriname (South America), Ingrid speaks six languages, including Spanish. Ingrid’s pledge to Arlington’s residents and businesses, “As Arlington County’s Commissioner of Revenue, I will apply sound management, leadership, advanced technology, and uncompromising standards of fairness and customer service to create a Commissioner’s office of which Arlingtonians can all be proud,” is evident in numerous new initiatives that have been implemented. These initiatives have turned the office into a business-friendly, customer service-driven operation.

Ingrid lives in South Arlington (Douglas Park) with husband Jerry Botland.
