About the Parks and Recreation Commission

The Commission’s primary responsibilities are to provide the County Board with recommendations concerning:

• Parks and recreation planning, programming and budgetary matters
• The naming or renaming of parks and/or recreation, conservation and public open spaces (and related facilities) in accordance with the County Naming Policy
• Requests to place a park bench plaque within a County park, in accordance with the County Park Bench Donation and Adoption Policy 
• Requests to place recognition or memorial plaques on park land, public open spaces and/or recreation facilities, in accordance with the County Memorial Plaque Policy
• Park Enhancement Grants (PEG) nominations
• Bill Thomas Park Volunteer Award Nominations
• PRC Charter Adopted May 21, 2019
• PRC Guidance on Public Comments Related to County Operations
