The Arlington County Board has released a Notice of Funding Availability(PDF, 219KB) (NOFA) offering $60,000 in one-time funding to support public education and outreach efforts related to Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) ahead of the November 2025 General Election.
The Board is seeking proposals from nonpartisan organizations with demonstrated experience in civic engagement, education, and community outreach. The goal of the initiative is to ensure voters are informed and confident using Ranked Choice Voting. Particularly those who have historically faced barriers to participation.
“The County Board initiated this endeavor to bring RCV to both primary and general elections,” said County Board Member Julius D. "JD" Spain, Sr., “and it is my hope and expectation that we will continue our due diligence to ensure that no community is left behind in understanding how the process works.”
The funding must be used for in-person engagement, focused outreach, and after-action analysis. Proposals must include plans to reach underrepresented populations across all of Arlington and reflect an understanding of accessibility and equity in voter education.
Applications are due by 5:00 PM on Friday, July 18, 2025.
A virtual pre-proposal session will be held on July 7, and a final report on outreach results will be presented to the County Board in early 2026.
