The public and media are invited to join Arlington County officials at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for WMATA’s Metrobus Route 16M Columbia Pike-National Landing. The ceremony will take place at the Arlington Mill Community Center.

This new bus route will launch on Sunday, June 25, 2023, expanding connectivity from the Skyline neighborhood in Fairfax County through Columbia Pike and extending to the Crystal City Metrorail station. The route represents the growth of Columbia Pike as a Premium Transit Corridor.

Route 16M will replace routes 16G and 16H, which ran along Columbia Pike and stopped at Pentagon City Metrorail. The consolidation and unified extension of the two former routes will be bolstered by increased bus frequency, starting with 12 minutes between buses during peak hours. ART bus service on routes 41 and 45 from Arlington Mill will also increase to further support passengers on the Columbia Pike corridor. ART 45 will now run every 15 minutes instead of the existing every 20 minutes and ART 41 will run every 12 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.
