MEDIA ADVISORY: Overdose Awareness Day Candlelight Vigil

Arlington County Government invites members of the media to a candlelight vigil at the Ellen M. Bozman County Government Center (2100 Clarendon Blvd) on Thursday, August 31, 2023. 

The event will allow Virginians to remember those who they have lost to overdose, and honor friends and relatives who continue to be impacted. Attendees will hear personal stories from people who have experience with overdose. They will also recognize the important roles of healthcare workers, support services, and first responders.

Additionally, experts will share information to help the community recognize signs of an opioid overdose and learn how to administer Narcan/Nalaxone.
