REPORTS

ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2023-03030085, 3300 block of Langston Boulevard. At approximately 8:54 a.m. on March 3, police were dispatched to the 3100 block of Langston Boulevard for the report of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, it was determined the suspect was allegedly acting disorderly inside a business but had left the scene prior to the arrival of police. Responding officers located the suspect at a nearby business continuing to act disorderly. As the officers were taking him into custody, the suspect punched an officer. A search of his person incident to arrest yielded suspected narcotics and a switchblade knife. The suspect was then transported to an area hospital for evaluation where he spit on a second officer. Willie Barksdale, 53, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Assault on Police (x2), Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance, Possession of a Concealed Weapon, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct.

SEXUAL BATTERY, 2023-03050171, Wilson Boulevard at N. Courthouse Road. At approximately 6:47 p.m. on March 5, police were dispatched to the police station for the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was walking her dog in the area when the male suspect approached her and allegedly hit her on the buttocks before fleeing the scene on foot. During the course of the investigation, it was determined a second female victim was approached by the suspect in the area of Wilson Boulevard and N. Troy Street, during which he hit her on the buttocks before fleeing the scene. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers located the suspect in the area and took him into custody without incident. Emanuel Alston, 22, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery (x2). He was held without bail.

BRANDISHING, 2023-03050194, 5000 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 9:02 p.m. on March 5, police were dispatched to the report of a brandishing. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim and known male suspect became involved in a verbal dispute, during which the suspect allegedly lifted his shirt to reveal a firearm in his waistband. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with long black hair, approximately 17-18 years old, wearing all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2023-03050198, 5600 block of 8th Street S. At approximately 9:21 p.m. on March 5, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined witnesses had observed an unknown suspect break several windows of a residence and enter the unoccupied home. The suspect subsequently exited the residence and fled the scene on foot. Responding officers canvassed the area and a police helicopter assisted with an aerial search for the suspect yielding negative results. The interior of the home appeared to be rummaged through but no items were reported damaged or stolen. The suspect is described as an unknown race male, approximately 6’0” wearing all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2023-03050124, 2800 block of 8th Street S. At approximately 2:35 p.m. on March 5, police were dispatched to the report of an attempted robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim and two unknown suspects arrived at this location for the prearranged sale of a computer. The suspects showed the victim the computer before brandishing what was later determined to be an air soft gun and demanding the victim’s money. The victim handed the suspects cash and took control of the air soft gun. The suspects then fled the scene on foot, dropping the money in the process. No injuries were reported. Suspect One is described as an Asian male, in his teens to early 20s, wearing gray pants, black hoodie and face mask. Suspect Two is described as an Asian male, in his teens to early 20s, wearing a black hoodie and a face mask. The investigation is ongoing.
