REPORTS

CARJACKING, 2023-01260270, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 9:33 p.m. on January 26, police were dispatched to the report of a person with a gun. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 9:20 p.m., the male victim was inside his parked vehicle when Suspect One opened his door, brandished a firearm and demanded the vehicle. The victim exited and Suspect One, along with two additional suspects, entered and fled the scene in the vehicle. The stolen vehicle was later recovered in Washington D.C. Suspect One is described as a male wearing a black hoodie, camouflage pants, and a ski mask. There is no description for the other suspects. The investigation is ongoing.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE (Significant), 2023-01260267, Richmond Highway at 12th Street S. At approximately 9:22 p.m. on January 26, police responded to the report of a single-vehicle crash. The investigation determined the involved vehicle had previously been reported stolen in a carjacking in Washington D.C. The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of police and a witness reported observing him enter a sedan driven by an unknown individual. The suspect is described as a male with shoulder length hair, 6'0" tall, skinny build and wearing jeans. The investigation is ongoing.
