Police Seek Assistance Identifying Subjects in Video Footage (UPDATE)

UPDATE – As a result of the press release, police identified the involved parties and determined no crime was committed.

The investigation determined the incident to be law enforcement training and to protect the identities of those in plain clothes operations, the video has been removed.

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance identifying subjects captured on video during an incident in North Rosslyn.

At approximately 4:36 p.m. on October 27, police were dispatched to N. Colonial Court at N. Colonial Terrace for the report of a possible abduction. Upon arrival, it was determined a witness observed two male subjects exit a gray SUV and stop a woman as she was walking down the sidewalk. The men removed the woman’s backpack, brought her closer to the vehicle and the three entered and drove away. An additional male subject observing the incident told the witness it was an exercise. 

Police canvassed the area and spoke with witnesses but have been unable to identify the involved individuals and want to ensure the safety of the woman. Anyone with information that may assist the investigation or who can identify the involved parties is asked to contact the Emergency Communications Center at 703-558-2222 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
