REPORTS
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2022-09240297, 3100 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 10:54 p.m. on September 24, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined that the female victim was inside her vehicle when the male suspect approached and allegedly attempted to open her car door while demanding money from the victim. Responding officers located the suspect in the area and took him into custody without incident. No injuries were reported. David Bhatti, 33, of Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery. He was held without bail.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2022-09250040, 500 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 2:45 a.m. on September 25, police were dispatched to the report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers located the male victim who was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries considered serious but non-life threatening. The investigation determined the victim and an unknown male suspect had been involved in a verbal dispute, during which the suspect assaulted the victim, stole his jewelry and broke his phone. The suspect fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a Black male, wearing a grey long sleeved shirt, red baseball cap, black pants and red and white shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2022-09250158, 4100 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 4:30 p.m. on September 25, police were dispatched to the report of an assault with injury. Upon arrival, it was determined that the two male subjects were inside an establishment when they became involved in a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation. Both male subjects were transported to an area hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2022-09230115, 4200 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. At approximately 11:38 a.m. on September 23, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male victim and known suspect were conversing in the area when the suspect demanded money from the victim. The suspect then made threatening statements, displayed a knife and followed the victim, before obtaining an undisclosed amount of money from the victim. The suspect then fled the scene in a silver sedan occupied by approximately five other subjects. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’5”-5’6”, 120 pounds, wearing a black polo, black jeans, black shoes and a black backpack. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY (Late), 2022-09230069, 4200 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 8:45 p.m. on September 23, police were dispatched to the late report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that approximately 20 minutes prior, the unknown male suspect entered into the business and allegedly selected a beverage and attempted to leave without paying. An employee confronted the suspect and attempted to prevent him from leaving, during which the suspect threw the beverage onto the employee and struck him before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported and the employee declined medical treatment. The suspect is described as a Black male with a mustache, approximately 5’7”-5’9” with a slim build, wearing a black and white baseball hat, gray long sleeve sweatshirt, black basketball shorts, black ankle socks and black shoes, carrying a light-colored tote and grocery bag. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY (Late), 2022-09230132, 900 block of N. Kenmore Street. At approximately 9:45 a.m. on September 23, police were dispatched to the late report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 2:00 a.m., the male victim was walking in the area when he was struck from behind by the unknown suspect(s) and fell to the ground. The suspect(s) then stole the victim’s cellphone and credit cards before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
BURLGARY (Late), 2022-09250037, 4900 block of 7th Road S. At approximately 2:06 a.m. on September 25, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. After further investigation, it was determined between approximately 2:00 p.m. on September 24 and 2:00 a.m. on September 25, an unknown suspect(s) entered the home and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no signs of forced entry and no other items were reported stolen. There is no suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.
