REPORTS

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2022-01240221, 5000 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 11:00 p.m. on January 24, police were dispatched to the report of a dispute at a business. A lookout was broadcast and officers located the vehicle in the area of Glebe Road and Wilson Boulevard and attempted a traffic stop. The driver accelerated and proceeded through two red lights before coming to a stop. The passenger, Suspect Two, then attempted to flee on foot but was located by officers and taken into custody. The driver, Suspect One, remained in the vehicle and was taken into custody. The investigation determined that the two suspects had become involved in a verbal dispute with an employee after receiving an incorrect order through the drive-thru. Suspect One allegedly threw a water bottle through the window, before parking the vehicle and entering the business. Suspect One continued the dispute with the employee before the two suspects began physically assaulting and striking the employee. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. During a search of the vehicle incident to arrest, officers recovered a firearm. Justice Bridges, 26, of Washington D.C., was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding and Eluding Police. Michael Ritch, 24 of Capital Heights, Md., was arrested and charged with Assault & Battery and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

BURGLARY (late), 2022-01240130, 5900 block of 2nd Street S. At approximately 2:57 p.m. on January 24, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined that victims returned to their residence and observed two sets of doors had been tampered with and opened. No items were reported stolen. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
