REPORTS

BURGLARY, 2022-04070014, 1100 block of S. Thomas Street. At approximately 2:04 a.m. on April 7, police were dispatched to the report of suspicious circumstances. A lookout was broadcast and officers located the suspect in the area of Columbia Pike and S. Frederick Street and took him into custody without incident. The investigation determined that at approximately 1:54 a.m., the suspect allegedly gained entry into the occupied residence and entered into the victim’s bedroom, during which the victim awoke to the suspect pressing down on her shoulders and telling her to remain silent. The victim yelled and the suspect fled the scene. Pedro Gomez Lopez, 18, of Falls Church, Va., was arrested and charged with Abduction, Burglary, and Public Intoxication. He was held on no bond.

CARJACKING, 2022-04080027, 2600 block of Langston Boulevard. At approximately 5:15 a.m. on April 8, police were dispatched to the report of a grand larceny auto just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 5:00 a.m., the victim was inside his parked vehicle when he observed the suspect vehicle idling in the area. The victim exited his vehicle to see if the driver needed assistance, when the two unknown male suspects exited their vehicle, grabbed the victim and demanded money. The victim refused, during which the suspects rummaged through his pockets, stealing his keys. Suspect One returned to the suspect vehicle, while Suspect Two entered into the victim’s vehicle and both drove away from the area. No injuries were reported. The victim’s vehicle is described as a 2010 Mazda 6 bearing VA license plate XMW1811. The two suspects are described as Black males, wearing sweatshirts or jackets and wool hats. The investigation is ongoing.
