REPORTS
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (Significant), 2021-10150064, 2000 block of N. 14th Street. At approximately 9:49 a.m. on October 15, police were dispatched to the report of a destruction of property. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect and he was taken into custody without incident. The investigation determined that the suspect allegedly threw rocks at three police vehicles, causing damage and shattering a window. Allen Duncan Jr., 29, of Washington D.C., was arrested and charged with Destruction of Property. He was held without bond.
ROBBERY, 2021-10150149, 1500 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 4:50 p.m. on October 15, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery just occurred. Based upon information provided by dispatch, the four suspects were located in the area and taken into custody without incident. The investigation determined the suspects entered the business and allegedly began concealing and cutting the tags off of merchandise. An employee observed the suspects and upon confronting them, the juvenile suspect brandished cutting sheers and threatened the employee. The four suspects then fled the scene on foot. Kenneth Collins, 35, of Washington D.C. was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny and released on a summons. Petitions were sought for the juvenile suspect. The two remaining juvenile suspects were released from the scene.
ROBBERY, 2021-10170166, 3000 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 6:45 p.m. on October 17, an officer in the 1500 block of Columbia Pike was flagged down by the victim for the report of a robbery. The investigation determined that the victim was exiting a business when he was approached by the known suspect who asked for his merchandise and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from his pocket. The victim was provided information about the process of obtaining warrants.
MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING, 2021-10150081, 4000 block of 5th Road N. At approximately 11:17 a.m. on October 15, police were dispatched to the report of a destruction of property. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect arrived at the business to retrieve his vehicle and became involved in a verbal dispute with the employee. The suspect left the business, returned a short time later in his vehicle and threw a rock through the window. The suspect then fled the scene in his vehicle prior to the arrival of police. Warrants for Missile into Occupied Dwelling and Destruction of Property were obtained for the suspect.
BURGLARY, 2021-10160180, 1000 block of Arlington Boulevard. At approximately 4:25 p.m. on October 16, police were dispatched to the report of a possible burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 12:00 p.m. on October 13 and 2:00 a.m. on October 16, the unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the victim’s residence, caused damage and stole electronics. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
ARSON, 2021-10150032, 3200 block of 6th Street S. At approximately 3:30 a.m. on October 15, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined that at 3:09 a.m., the unknown suspect approached an American flag on the victim’s porch and set it on fire. A witness observed the flag on fire and extinguished it. The suspect is described as a White male, 18 – 30 years old, 5’4” – 5’11” tall and wearing a dark hooded windbreaker, jeans, white sneakers and carrying a backpack. A joint investigation with the Fire Marshal’s Office is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY (Late), 2021-10170079, 3400 block of 13th Street N. At approximately 7:19 a.m. on October 17, police were dispatched to the late report of an unlawful entry. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 7:30 a.m. on October 16 and 6:45 a.m. on October 17, the unknown suspect(s) entered into the facility and removed and displaced athletic equipment. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY (Late), 2021-10140146, 4400 block of 31st Street S. At approximately 5:23 p.m. on October 14, police were dispatched to the late report of an attempted burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim returned to his residence and observed damage to the front door and door handle. The investigation revealed that between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., the unknown suspect(s) attempted to force entry into the victim’s apartment, however, no entry was made inside. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
