REPORTS
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2021-11140037, 5100 block of 15th Street N. At approximately 1:58 a.m. on November 14, police were dispatched to the report of an attempted burglary in progress. The investigation determined that the victim had returned to his residence when he observed the unknown male suspect standing on his enclosed back porch, looking inside through the back door. A lookout was broadcast and the suspect was located in the area and taken into custody without incident. During a search of his person incident to arrest, a screw driver was located in the suspect’s pants pocket. Brandan Devanney, 32, of Bristow, Va., was arrested and charged with Attempted Burglary and Possession of Burglarious Tools. He was also served with outstanding warrants out of Culpepper County. He was held on no bond.
ROBBERY, 2021-11120144, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 4:41 p.m. on November 12, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that the three male suspects entered into the store and asked for assistance from an employee. When the employee went to retrieve merchandise from the back, the three suspects began to grab merchandise in an attempt to steal them. The employee returned and attempted to stop them, when one of the suspect lifted his shirt to reveal a firearm and verbally threatened the employee. The three suspects fled the scene on foot with the unpaid merchandise. Suspect One is described as a young Black male, wearing a black ski mask, an orange coat and black jeans. Suspect Two is described as a young Black male, wearing a black ski mask with all black clothing. Suspect Three is described as a young Black male, wearing a face mask and all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2021-11110043, 4600 block of 24th Street N. At approximately 6:26 a.m. on November 11, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that between approximately 12:00 a.m. and 6:26 a.m., the unknown suspects forced entry into the victim’s residence by smashing the side door’s window, stole the keys to his vehicle and fled the scene. No other items were reported stolen. The victim’s vehicle is described as a gray Infinity JX35 with VA license plates WXL5157. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the suspects attempted to enter into the vehicles and residences of two additional victims. Suspect One is described as a male with a skinny build, wearing a dark colored jacket, dark colored hoodie, dark pants, tennis shoes, gloves, a mask and carrying a backpack. Suspect Two is described as a male with a skinny build and light complexion, wearing a light colored hoodie, and light colored mask. The investigation is ongoing.
