REPORTS
RECKLESS HANDLING OF FIREARM, 2021-11110180, 3600 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 6:42 p.m. on November 11, police were dispatched to the report of a person with a gun. Upon arrival, it was determined that two male subjects became involved in a dispute in the parking lot of a business. One subject produced a firearm and the firearm was discharged during the incident. The circumstances of the discharge remain under investigation. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2021-11110133, 400 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 2:56 p.m. on November 11, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was determined that Victim One was inside the business in line at the register behind the suspect, when the suspect allegedly turned around, struck him in the face, exited the business and verbally threatened him from outside. A short while later, Victim Two attempted to enter the business when the suspect, who was still standing outside, allegedly struck the victim in the back of the head with a blunt object before fleeing the scene on foot. Arriving officers located Victim Two outside of the business with a large laceration on the back of his head and administered aid until medics arrived on scene. He was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Victim One had sustained minor injuries and declined the treatment of medics. During the course of the investigation, detectives developed a suspect description and obtained warrants for Malicious Wounding and Assault & Battery.
BURGLARY, 2021-11110022, 1800 block of 9th Street S. At approximately 2:25 a.m. on November 11, police were dispatched to the report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 2:25 a.m., the victim was awoken to the sound of banging coming from her front door. Upon looking out her window, she observed the two unknown suspects fleeing from her residence. Suspect One entered into the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene, while Suspect Two fled on foot prior to the arrival of police. The investigation determined that the two suspects forced entry into the victim’s residence through the front window and stole the keys to her vehicle before leaving the area. Both suspects are described as Black males wearing all black clothing, approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall with skinny builds, in their late-teens to early-20’s. The victim’s vehicle is described as a white Lincoln MKZ with VA license plates 14924Y. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2021-11100142, 3000 block of S. Randolph Street. At approximately 3:51 p.m. on November 10, police were dispatched to the report of a trespassing. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was inside her residence when she heard the suspect open her unlocked front door. The victim went to investigate and observed the unknown male suspect standing in her apartment, who fled the scene upon seeing her. Arriving officers canvased the building and surrounding area with negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6’0” tall, wearing a red shirt, dark blue jeans and a dark colored beanie. The investigation is ongoing.
