Published on October 14, 2021

Arlington County Government is launching a new website, the first major refreshment of the County’s online presence in more than seven years. The site will launch Monday, Oct. 18. Users will continue to access the site by visiting www.arlingtonva.us.

The upgraded site brings needed improvements to the website’s overall stability, security and performance. Enhancements were also made to the site with a light design refresh and navigation updates to better serve the community’s digital needs.

“The County website is the first and sometimes only stop for important information about Arlington for many of our residents,” said County Board Chair Matt de Ferranti. “This upgrade will help ensure that the website is an easily accessible, safe, and reliable resource for our residents and businesses to engage with their government.”

Now more than ever people rely on the County’s website for news and information affecting nearly every area of their lives in Arlington, whether it’s a public health notice, applying for a permit, watching a County Board meeting, or paying taxes online. This upgrade will ensure that residents, businesses and visitors alike have a positive and productive online experience with the County government and can confidently and securely access the information they need.

Some new benefits of the site that users will experience:

  • A new, lightly refreshed look and feel
  • Enhanced search functionality
  • Tile design for easier one-click access
  • Strategic content layout for improved site navigation based on analytics and most popular content
  • Redesigned News & Events section for easier access
  • Improved maps, including a new What’s Near Me? feature

The URL for the County website (www.arlingtonva.us) will remain, but with additional features to help users easily find what they are looking for.

The homepage has quick links to the most requested County services and programs, upcoming events, the latest news, and more. The new search bar at the top of the website has a predictive function that can better help users identify the pages they need and there is a What’s Near Me? map that lets users search find County facilities, parks, polling places, fire stations, and more based on a location.
