REPORTS


ROBBERY, 2020-01030029, 2700 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 2:30 a.m. on January 3, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that two suspects entered a business and forced two employees behind the counter. Suspect One displayed an object that appeared to be a knife, pushed an employee towards the cash register and forced him to open it, then stole an undisclosed amount of cash and other merchandise. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival. One victim sustained minor injuries. Suspect One is described as a black male, approximately 5'8", thin build, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, gloves and a bandanna. Suspect Two is described as a black male, approximately 5'4", thin build, wearing all black. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2020-01050141, 2800 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 4:33 p.m. on January 5, police responded to the report of a burglary just discovered. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 4:32 a.m., five unknown suspects forced entry to a business, rummaged through items and stole cash. During the incident, the suspects stole a vehicle associated with an employee which was parked on the premises. Suspect One is described as a black male in his teens, skinny with a light complexion. Suspect Two is described as a tall, skinny, black male. Suspect Three is described as a skinny, black male. Suspect Four is described as a tall, thin, black male. Suspect Five is described as a short, black male. The suspects wore dark clothing at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING, 2020-01030192, 1700 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 5:40 p.m. on January 3, police were dispatched to the report of possible shots heard. Upon arrival, it was determined that an unknown suspect threw a skateboard wheel into the glass door of a business, causing it to shatter. No injuries were reported and the investigation determined no shooting had occurred. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (Series), 2020-01060029/01060038, 2700 block of 20th Street N./2000 N. Kenilworth Street. At approximately 4:00 a.m. on January 6, police responded to the report of a vehicle tampering. Upon arrival, a witness reported observing a SUV driving through the area, several individuals exiting and trying door handles of parked vehicles. Officers located seven vehicles which had been entered, rummaged through and items of value stolen. The investigation is ongoing. Updated (1/7/20): Officers were later dispatched back to the area and, during the course of the investigation, located seven additional vehicles which had been entered, rummaged through and items of value taken. Additionally, one vehicle was reported stolen from the 1900 block of N. Lexington Street. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2020-01040024, 3200 block of 9th Street S. At approximately 1:35 a.m. on January 4, police were dispatched to the report of a  burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 6:30 a.m. on January 3 and 1:30 a.m. on January 4, an unknown suspect gained entry to a residence and stole items of value. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.

SEXUAL BATTERY (late), 2020-01050181, 1100 block of N. George Mason Drive. At approximately 9:10 p.m. on January 5, police were dispatched to the late report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 8:17 p.m., the victim was walking in the area when she noticed the shadow of someone behind her. As she turned around, the suspect grabbed her buttocks and ran away. She described the suspect as a white male, in his late 20's or early 30's, possibly Hispanic or Italian, with dark features, straight, dark, short hair, wearing a black hoodie and light pants.
