Arlington's Powhatan Springs Skate Park is back in business, and by the number of ollies, railslides and kickflips, area skaters are loving it.

After being closed for half of 2018 and the first few months of 2019, construction fences came down on Fri., April 5. Skaters immediately flocked to the park, enjoying two conveniently warm, sunny days to break in the new pro bowls, snake run and street course.

The County renovated the park because of safety risks posed by normal wear of the park's original concrete. Changes in skating over the nearly 15 years since the park was built also necessitated some updates to better meet users' needs.

We visited the park soon after it opened to see how Arlington skaters were enjoying it. Watch the video to see what we found.
