TRAFFIC ALERT: Valley Fest

newsroom-header-1.png ARLINGTON, VA — The 3rd annual Valley Fest will take place on Sunday, September 29th, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM. The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from approximately 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM to accommodate the festival:

  • Oakland Street, from S. Four Mile Run Drive to the Shirlington Dog Park

  • 2700 block of S. Nelson Street.

    • The Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) and part of the StorQuest Self-Storage facility will be accessible.




The public can expect to see a visible police presence in the area. Motorists should follow law enforcement direction, be mindful of the road closures, and remain alert for increased pedestrian traffic in the area.

Attendees are encouraged to use multimodal transportation platforms such as taxis, Uber, and Lyft, as parking will be limited around the festival.  Additionally, street parking in the area will be restricted and motorists should be on the lookout for temporary "No Parking" signs.  Illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed or towed. If your vehicle is towed from a public street, call the Emergency Communications Center at 703-558-2222.
Shirlington Dog Park

The Shirlington Dog Park will remain open throughout the event, however; the parking lot between S. Nelson Street and S. Oakland Street typically used by park patrons will be not be available.  Pet owners are encouraged to use the S. Oxford Street access point if entering from Four Mile Run Drive, or the Four Mile Run Trail footbridge when walking from Arlington Mill Drive.
