REPORTS
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2019-09140247, 5500 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 10:28 p.m. on September 14, police were dispatched to the report of a trouble unknown. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim and suspect were engaged in a verbal dispute that allegedly escalated when the suspect struck the victim multiple times with a metal object, causing lacerations. Arriving officers rendered aid to the victim and located the suspect still on scene and detained him without incident. The victim was transported by medics to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Gantumur Dorjpurev, 42, of Upper Marlboro, Md., was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding.
ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT, 2019-09140015, Lee Highway at N. Pollard Street. At approximately 12:39 a.m. on September 14, an officer on patrol observed two male suspects behaving suspiciously outside of a vehicle. Upon seeing the officer, the suspects attempted to flee. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with Suspect One, when he observed Suspect Two attempt to flee on foot. With the assistance of additional officers arriving on scene, Suspect Two was stopped. While officers attempted to remove Suspect One from the vehicle and detain him, he actively resisted and bit an officer. During the course of the investigation, marijuana as well as a firearm were located inside of the vehicle. Suspect Two refused to provide identifying information to officers on scene and was subsequently detained. He was later identified during a search incident to arrest. Timothy Atwell, 32, of Warrenton, Va., was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on Law Enforcement, Obstruction of Justice, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of Marijuana. Robert Lane, 56, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Failure to ID.
