Arlington Fields Officially Named "Boeing Fields at Long Bridge

Today, Arlington County unveiled the newly installed signs naming Boeing Fields at Long Bridge Park. These park signs recognize The Boeing Company's generous donation to support maintenance and operational expenses at both Long Bridge Park and the future Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center, as well as provide access and programming for active duty military and their families at the aquatics center.

"Thanks to Boeing's generous donation to Arlington County, we can ensure these two facilities are modern and maintained well into the future, and that active duty military and their families have a wonderful place to relax and refresh," said Arlington County Board Chair Christian Dorsey.

"Investing in Boeing Fields at Long Bridge Park and the Aquatics Center is important to the entire Boeing team because here in Arlington, just steps from the Pentagon, we take to heart our mission to support military and veterans not just on the battlefield, but also at home," said Tim Keating, executive vice president for Government Operations at The Boeing Company.

Boeing's donation was received in February 2019 through a partnership with the Arlington Community Foundation.

About Long Bridge Park

Located adjacent to Boeing's Crystal City headquarters, Long Bridge Park currently features three full-size, multi-sport, lighted fields (now named Boeing Fields at Long Bridge Park), a network of walkways, an overlook at the north end of the park with views of capital monuments,  a public art feature called Wave Arbor, playgrounds for ages 2-5 and 5-12, and a three-quarter acre rain garden. Boeing Field #1 was funded by Marymount University and is used as the home field for their men and women's soccer and lacrosse teams.

About the Long Bridge Park Aquatics & Fitness Center

Set to open first quarter 2021, the Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center will be Arlington County's first-ever, free-standing aquatics center and will include a 50-meter pool,  leisure/family pool, 5-meter dive tower, space for 600 spectators, approximately 10,000 square feet of health and fitness space, an extension of the esplanade, rain gardens, a public gathering spaces, parking, public art and more.

Arlington County will also name the 50-meter pool inside the aquatics & fitness center in recognition of Boeing's investment.
