Celebrate the Nation's Birthday at Arlington's Annual Indep

America turns 241 years old next week but Arlington always has fresh ways to celebrate at its renowned annual national birthday party in Long Bridge Park.

This year's July Fourth festivities, taking place Tuesday from 5 to 10 p.m., include a brand-new obstacle course for would-be ninja warriors, an exclusive Independence Day Snapchat filter to share the day with friends anywhere in the world and more than a dozen food vendors including several making their Long Bridge debut with menus ranging from pizza to seafood to Halal.

Steve Lauri of the Hollies kicks things off from the live music stage. He'll be followed by DJ and vinyl historian Baronhawk Poitier and finally the ever-popular regional cover band Jeff From Accounting.

No July Fourth celebration at Long Bridge would be complete without family friendly favorites like face painting, balloon art, moon bounces (weather permitting) plus cornhole and bocce.

And after the sun goes down, it's time to take in the grand capital fireworks show from the best view west of the Potomac.

Note: There is no on-site parking at the event. Free event shuttles will run continuously from 4:30-10:30 p.m. between Long Bridge Park and the Pentagon City and Crystal City Metrorail stations.

2017 will prove once again that there's no better place than Arlington for the biggest day of the year in patriotic fun.
