Arlington's huge hometown Home Show and Garden Expo returns to Thomas Jefferson Community Center on Saturday, April 9.Marking its tenth year,
the free, all-day affair is packed with enough workshops, exhibits and expert advice to satisfy any first-time buyer, weekend renovator or HGTV binge-watcher.
On hand sharing tips and strategies will be more than 75 home builders, contractors, specialist vendors, architects, landscape designers, realtors and banks.
The show's new "Ask an Expert" area will feature County staff from programs including
Green Home Choice,
Historic Preservation,
Inspection Services,
Zoning and Code Enforcement Services.
The
full schedule of classes ranges from "Understanding Condominium Living" to "Choosing the Right Contractor and Seven Remodeling Mistakes to Avoid." There will also be sessions in financing, repairs, ecofriendly living and selling a home.
Reservations are being accepted now for "
The Landlord Seminar," covering the legal aspects and responsibilities of renting out property as a small-scale side business.
And thinking spring,
Master Gardeners of Northern Virginia will be talking yards, trees and plants and how to make them thrive throughout the year.
