"Our theme this year, 'Groovy Since 1977,' not only celebrates our first fair but every year since as we come together as a community to showcase the best of Arlington," said Rene Gornall, Arlington County Fair Board Chair. "Come by the fair to have fun and meet neighbors, and also consider joining the Fair Board. Together we can keep this great tradition moving forward."
County government at the fairArlington County government will be well represented among the fair's indoor vendors. Explore some of the many services and programs the County has to offer — we'll have information and displays on public engagement, sustainability, families, history and voting. Learn about our solar co-op and home energy rebates from AIRE, the County's sustainability and energy conservation program. Check out a sample voting booth and ballot.
Tell us what you like about Arlington's parks; what you want to see more of in our parks. Learn what you need to take with you in an emergency, and find out what goes in to recycling our waste. You'll also have a chance to learn more about our many commissions and find out how you can get involved.
Outdoor funThe outdoor fun begins with the 5 p.m. ribbon-cutting on Wed., August 17 in front of the Thomas Jefferson Community Center. There will be pony rides, True Health Kids Obstacle Course and animal races. The following days will feature free musical performances, Harlem Wizards, dancers, exhibitions and more.
