Current Engagement Opportunities       

Missing Middle Housing - County Board Engagement (Multiple Dates): From September to October 2022, the Arlington County Board will host 3 Information Sessions and 11 Community Conversations regarding Missing Middle Housing. Participants will have the opportunity to learn, listen, reflect, and share their perspectives with County Board members and neighbors to inform the following steps of the MMHS process. Register for a community conversation by Sept. 12 at 5:00 p.m. Please use this link to also submit advanced questions for the information sessions.  

Plan Langston Boulevard Community Meetings - Feedback Opportunities on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.: Join the planning team for a virtual community meeting on the Preliminary Concept Plan for the Langston Boulevard corridor. Discuss the concept with County staff and provide your feedback after the meeting. Proposed STAR Policy Changes for FY 2023 - Feedback Form: Share your thoughts with Arlington Transit on the proposed changes to the STAR policy. Learn about related information by visiting the project page.

Draft Forestry and Natural Resources Plan Open House - Virtual Event on Sept. 29, 7 p.m.: Join County staff for a virtual open house on the Draft Forestry and Natural Resources Plan to learn how to take care of our public lands and natural resources. Learn more by visiting the project page.  

Special Land Use Study - Sunrise Senior Living Property at North Glebe Road and North 20th Street - Feedback Form through Sept. 30: Share your thoughts on the potential change of this site property from a "Low" Residential to "Low-Medium" Residential designation with an associated rezoning. Visit the project page for more information. 

Draft Forestry and Natural Resources Plan - Feedback Form through Oct. 3: Share your feedback on the Draft Forestry and Natural Resources Plan to help assure the future benefits of nature. Visit the project page to learn about the plan and leave a comment directly.

Northern Virginia Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Comment Period - Feedback Opportunity through Oct. 8: Share your input with Northern Virginia Emergency Response Managers on the 2022 Hazard Mitigation Draft Plan. The plan will aim to minimize impact from hazards that affect our community, such as flooding, winter weather, and other disasters. North Quincy Street Facility Community Meeting - In-Person Event on Oct. 12, 6 p.m.: Join County staff to learn the fencing and landscaping plans for the North Quincy St. site. At the meeting you will be able to provide public comment. Learn more by visiting the project page. 

Digital Equity Broadband Study eCheckup - Feedback Form through Oct. 14: Share your input as a resident and/ or business on the broadband study to help the County better understand the community's internet use and broadband access. Learn about this study by visiting the project page. 

Future of Outdoor Dining (FOOD) Study - Feedback Form through Oct. 21: Provide your input on the County's study of future rules and regulations on seating areas for outdoor dining spaces at restaurants, bars, or cafés. Visit the project page to learn more.

County Board Welcomes Public Comment on Ranked Choice Voting - Feedback Opportunity through Nov. 4: Share your thoughts with Arlington County Board Members on a proposed voting method pilot for the 2023 County Board June primary election. Learn more by visiting the feedback page.

Crystal City Second Entrance Meeting: The Crystal City Metrorail Station project team held a virtual design update public meeting on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Learn about the most recent designs for the east entrance to the station and the next steps for this transit project. 2700 S Nelson St. Placemaking PlanThe Graham Projects design team and Arlington County officials implemented a variety of community engagement strategies to collect responses on public art and placemaking. Learn about the process that will ultimately lead to a new and inclusive outdoor public space for arts and performances.  

 Proposed FY 2023 - FY 2032 Capital Improvement Plan: The County Manager presented his proposed FY 2023- 2032 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to the County Board on May 17, 2022. Learn about the proposal and review resources including the CIP engagement summary and analysis documents.

CC2DCA Engagement Summary: The Crystal City to Ronald Regan Washington International Airport Multimodal Connection (CC2DCA) study team has prepared updates to share with the community. Learn about public response in the second round of engagement that took place last winter, and next steps for analysis ahead of the next round of engagement anticipated for the fall of 2022. See the newsletter:

Lubber Run Park Pedestrian Bridge Renovation - Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts regarding the draft design for the Lubber Run Pedestrian Bridge. We appreciate your input. Review the update on the project shared by staff at the Nov. 17 Arlington Forest Civic Association meeting.

Vision Zero in Arlington: Arlington County transportation staff and our partners have been working hard to deliver projects, programs, and policies to reduce serious transportation crashes in our community. We are excited to share our first Vision Zero Mid-Year Progress Report. The report details action from 2021, as well as action coming in 2022.  Learn more about Vision Zero.

Community Oversight Board and Independent Policing Auditor: To improve transparency and accountability in the police department, the County Board has established a Community Oversight Board (COB) with independent investigative and subpoena power, and an Independent Policing Auditor.
