REPORTS
WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2021-11230153, 800 block of Army Navy Drive. At approximately 3:41 p.m. on November 23, police were alerted to a possibly stolen vehicle. Officers located the parked, unoccupied vehicle and confirmed the vehicle was reported stolen out of Virginia and the license plate was stolen out of Pennsylvania. Five subjects subsequently returned to the vehicle and police attempted to stop them. Two subjects were detained without incident, one subject fled on foot and was not located, and two subjects fled in the vehicle. Officers deployed stop sticks, causing the rear tires of the vehicle to deflate, however the driver continued to travel at a low rate of speed around the area. While fleeing, the driver struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle causing damage. With the assistance of Virginia State Police, the vehicle was stopped at 12th Street S. and S. Hayes Street and the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody without incident. The passenger fled on foot and officers initiated a brief foot pursuit before taking the subject into custody without further incident. During the course of the investigation, officers recovered two firearms, ammunition and suspected narcotics. The driver, Tiydre Edwards, 29, of Washington D.C. was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny Auto, Possession of Ammunition by Convicted Felon, Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance, Felony Eluding, Receiving Stolen Goods, Hit and Run, and Driving without a License. The passenger, Deytrel Ashton, 27, of Washington D.C. was arrested and charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm (x2), Felon in Possession of Ammunition (x2), Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of Schedule I/II Narcotics (x2), Carrying a Concealed Weapon (x2), Obstruction of Justice, Identity Theft to Avoid Arrest, Receiving a Stolen Handgun, Possession of a Firearm with an Altered Serial Number and Fugitive from Justice. Shaquille Scott, 23, of Washington D.C. was arrested and charged with Drunk in Public.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2021-11230196, 4100 block of 3rd Road N. At approximately 8:39 p.m. on November 23, police were dispatched to the report of an attempted burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that approximately 20 minutes prior, the juvenile victims were inside the residence when they heard a noise coming from the front door. The victims went to investigate and observed the unknown male and unknown female suspects attempting to gain entry inside. The victims yelled out to the suspects and they fled the scene on foot. Suspect One is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’4”, wearing a brown jacket and a red hat. Suspect Two is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5’0” with long black hair. The investigation is ongoing.
INDECENT EXPOSURE (Late), 2021-11230170, S. Arlington Mill Drive at S. Taylor Street. At approximately 5:13 p.m. on November 23, police were dispatched to the late report of an indecent exposure. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 1:45 p.m., the female victim was riding a bus when the unknown male suspect came and sat next to her and attempted to engage her in conversation. The suspect then got up and sat across from the victim and she observed him with his hand in his pants allegedly masturbating. The suspect is described as a Black male, wearing a red jacket and dark gray sweatpants. The investigation is ongoing.
