REPORTS


ROBBERY, 2020-09190134, 1200 block of S. Fern Street. At approximately 3:36 p.m. on September 19, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect allegedly stole merchandise from a business without paying. Upon being confronted by loss prevention at the exit, the suspect allegedly brandished a knife, then fled on foot. The victim was not injured. Arriving officers located the suspect in the Pentagon City Metro, still in possession of stolen merchandise. Kareem Taylor, 27, of Alexandria, Va., was arrested and charged with Robbery and Drunk in Public.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING (late), 2020-09200050, 3700 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 4:09 a.m. on September 20, police were dispatched to Virginia Hospital Center for the late report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 2:45 a.m., the two male victims were entering a business when the two suspects attempted to engage them in conversation unsuccessfully. After leaving the business, the victims were walking in the area when they observed the same suspects standing in their path. Suspect One approached them and demanded money from Victim One, who stated he did not have money on him. Suspect One then turned to Victim Two, at which point a physical altercation ensued between the victims and suspects. During the altercation, Victim Two was struck multiple times, resulting in lacerations. Victim One was not injured. The victims returned to their residence before seeking medical assistance. Suspect One is described as a taller, light skinned Hispanic male, approximately 5'9"-5'11", slim/skinny build, wearing a black t-shirt or a black jacket, blue jeans, with a shorter haircut. Suspect Two is described as a tall, stocky, light skinned Hispanic male, wearing a black t-shirt or jacket with dark blue jeans. The investigation is ongoing.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES, 2020-09190118, 5700 block of Lee Highway. At approximately 2:46 p.m. on September 19, police were dispatched to the report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined that the female juvenile victims were exiting a business when the male subject pulled up next to them in his vehicle and attempted to engage them in conversation. They declined and began to run away. The subject yelled to the victims again to come back to his car, at which point a witness came to the aid of the victims and contacted police. The subject fled in the vehicle prior to police arrival. The subject is described as an Indian male. The vehicle is described as a small, white car. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2020-09190067, 1400 block of N. Taft Street. At approximately 9:19 a.m. on September 19, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 5:34 a.m. and 6:04 a.m. on September 19, the suspect gained entry to a secure package storage within an apartment building, tampered with multiple packages, and stole an item from at least one package. The suspect is described as a Black male, wearing a black sweat shirt with the hood up, slides and yellow gloves. The investigation is ongoing.
