REPORTS


 

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2020-05080105, Richmond Highway at 23rd Street S. At approximately 2:57 p.m. on May 8, police were dispatched to the report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was walking in the area when the he noticed the suspect allegedly running towards him and yelling at him. The victim began running away, however, the suspect caught up to him, grabbed his arm and attempted to steal his backpack unsuccessfully. The victim was able to break free and seek police assistance. Arriving officers located the suspect in the area and took him into custody without incident. The victim was not injured. David Bates, 41, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery and Drunk in Public.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2020-05090101, I-66WB at Rosslyn Tunnel. At approximately 2:30 p.m. on May 9, police were dispatched to the report of an exposure just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was operating as a rideshare driver when the suspect, a passenger, allegedly began making inappropriate comments and grabbed her arm. The victim pulled over and forced him out of the vehicle, while he continued to touch himself inappropriately. The suspect fled on foot prior to police arrival. During the course of the investigation, a possible suspect was identified based upon information from the victim. Officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident in the 4900 block of Lee Highway. Demetrius Dent, 27, of Forestville, Md., was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure and Assault and Battery.

ROBBERY (late), 2020-05090021, 800 block of S. Greenbrier Street. At approximately 2:08 a.m. on May 9, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined that approximately one hour prior, the victim was walking in the area of Columbia Pike when two unknown suspects assaulted him and stole his wallet. The victim sustained minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY (late), 2020-05100115, 4600 block of S. King Street. At approximately 3:28 p.m. on May 10, police were dispatched to the late report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 2:10 p.m., after withdrawing cash from an ATM, the victim was approached by two unknown suspects who asked for change. When the victim refused, the suspects demanded the cash while making threats to harm the victim. The suspects then fled the scene on foot with the cash. The suspects are described as black males, approximately 14 to 15 years old, 5'8" to 5'10" tall with skinny builds. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY (late), 2020-05090093, 800 block of N. Randolph Street. At approximately 2:05 p.m. on May 9, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 3:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on May 9, an unknown suspect gained entry to a residence and stole items of value. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2020-05100099, 1800 block of N. Quinn Street. At approximately 2:15 p.m. on May 10, police were dispatched to the report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined that property management located various personal items inside a vacant apartment. There were no signs of forced entry. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY (late), 2020-05100119, 900 block of N. Pollard Street. At approximately 4:08 p.m. on May 10, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 10:00 a.m. on May 8 and 7:00 a.m. on May 10, an unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked residence and stole items of value. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (series), 2020-05070018, 4400 block of block of 1st Street S. At approximately 6:08 a.m. on May 7, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny from auto. Upon arrival, it was determined that approximately nine unlocked vehicles were entered and items of value stolen. There are no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
