Crime Report: June 23, 2020

CARJACKING, 2020-06220165, S. Four Mile Run Drive at S. Walter Reed Drive. At approximately 8:27 p.m. on June 22, police were dispatched to the report of a carjacking. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was pumping gas when the male suspect allegedly approached her and demanded the vehicle. The suspect stole the car and fled into Fairfax County. A lookout for the vehicle was broadcast to area law enforcement. At approximately 9:03 p.m., officers were alerted that the vehicle was re-entering the County on Columbia Pike. The vehicle was initially located in the area of 5300 block of Columbia Pike and an officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, however, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was later located parked and unoccupied in the 2600 block of S. Arlington Mill Drive. A perimeter was established, and following a search by officers and K9s, the suspect was located and taken into custody. Verdell Floyd, 19, of Columbia, S.C. was arrested and charged with Carjacking and Eluding. He was held on no bond.

BURGLARY, 2020-06220014, 1800 block of N. Lynn Street. At approximately 1:47 a.m. on June 22, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that building security allegedly observed the known suspect inside of a secure commercial building. Arriving officers identified the individual as a known wanted suspect and conducted a search of the building with negative results. Officers canvassing the area subsequently observed the suspect in the 1900 block of N. Moore Street. He ignored the commands of officers to stop and fled on foot. A brief foot pursuit ensued and the suspect was taken into custody in the area of Key Bridge. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that he was in possession of mail and items of value that had been stolen. Carson Craft, 28, of No Fixed Address was arrested and served with outstanding warrants for Credit Card Theft (x3) and Grand Larceny Auto. He was held on no bond.

BURGLARY, 2020-06220046, 400 block of Amy Navy Drive. At approximately 10:30 a.m. on June 22, police were dispatched to the late report of breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 9:30 p.m. on June 21 and 5:30 a.m. on June 22, an unknown suspect gained entry to the victim's residence and stole the victim's wallet. The victim was subsequently alerted to unauthorized transactions on her credit card. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
