Census Speaks Your Language

Census Day was April 1 — but it's not too late to fill out your census form online or over the phone. Due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak, the U.S. Census Bureau is encouraging everyone who has not yet responded to take the census online or by phone.   

It's easy to complete the 2020 Census online using a computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet, or over the phone. The questionnaire is available online and by phone in English and 12 other languages:

Over 55% of Arlingtonians have already responded to the Census. Let a friend, neighbor or relative know that phone and language resources are available. Census data are critical to assuring funding for healthcare, emergencies, roads, infrastructure projects, and many other services that impact our lives every day.  


The U.S. Census counts every resident in the nation, including right here in Arlington County. As mandated by the U.S. Constitution, America gets just one chance each decade to count its population. The collected data help to determine things like the number of seats Virginia has in the House of Representatives, and how to distribute federal funds to local communities like ours.
