UPDATED TRAFFIC ALERT: 2019 Crystal City 5K Fridays Races

Published on April 01, 2019

UPDATED 4/22/19: Due to inclement weather last weekend, the Crystal City 5k Friday event previously scheduled for April 19 has been rescheduled to May 3. The below road closures will occur on May 3 to accommodate the race.

ARLINGTON, Va. — The Crystal City 5K Fridays races will take place each Friday evening in April (5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th).  The Arlington County Police Department will close the following roadways each race day from approximately 6:15 PM until 8:15 PM to accommodate these events:

  • Northbound lanes of Crystal Drive between 26th Street and 12th Street

  • North and Southbound lanes of Long Bridge Drive, including S. 6th, 10th, and Ball Streets, each of which will be closed.

Please note: The Southbound lanes of Crystal Drive will remain open during the race.

Other closures not mentioned above may be implemented at police discretion in the interest of public safety.

In addition to the closures, street parking in the area will be restricted. Motorists should be on the lookout for temporary "No Parking" signs, and illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed or towed. If your vehicle is towed from a public street, call the Emergency Communications Center at 703-558-2222.

Participants and spectators are encouraged to use the Metro (Crystal City station) or other "for hire" transportation options to reduce vehicular traffic in the area.
