Public Invited to Arlington Women in Public Safety Outreach Event

ARLINGTON, VA—The Arlington County Police Department, Fire Department, Department of Public Safety Communications and Emergency Management, the Sheriff's Office, and our public safety partners invite the public to join us during the 2nd Annual Arlington Women in Public Safety Outreach Event. In Arlington County, we recognize the unique contributions of and profound impact that women in public safety have in keeping our community safe. Event attendees will have the opportunity to interact with Arlington's female public safety employees, explore and experience the work they do, and learn about career opportunities. The event will offer activities suitable for the whole family, promoting that careers in public safety are professions for everyone.

This free, family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, June 2nd, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Arlington Traditional School, located at 855 N. Edison Street. The event will take place rain or shine.

Highlights of this year's event include:

  • Demonstration by the K9 Unit

  • Bomb Squad Display

  • All-Female Honor Guard

  • Escape Room activity, providing attendees the opportunity to take on the role of the detective

  • Other interactive activities led by female public safety employees

The all-female Honor Guard will conduct a presentation of colors at 10:30 a.m. The K9 Unit will hold a demonstration at 2:00 p.m. All other activities will take place continuously throughout the day.
