TRAFFIC ALERT: Select a Sober Ride Home Community Outreach Event

Published on October 31, 2017

ARLINGTON, VA - The 2017 Halloween Bar Crawl will take place on Saturday, November 4, in the Clarendon neighborhood. According to the National Highway Safety Authority, there were 55 people killed in drunk-driving-related crashes on Halloween in 2015. That's why the Arlington County Police Department (ACPD), the Arlington County Fire Department (ACFD) and the Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP) are partnering to encourage citizens to make a plan to get home safely without drinking and driving.

This Saturday, join ACPD, ACFD, and WRAP for an interactive anti-drunk driving event to highlight the impact alcohol has on motor skills. This free event is open to the public.

The Arlington County Police Department will conduct the following road closures from approximately 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM to accommodate this event:

  • Highland Street between Clarendon Boulevard and 11th Street N.

In addition to the closures, street parking in the area will be restricted. Motorists should be on the lookout for temporary "No Parking" signs. Illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed or towed. If your vehicle is towed from a public street, call the Emergency Communication Center at 703-558-2222.
