Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney Releases Report on May 201

ARLINGTON, Va. — Following the officer-involved shooting on May 17, 2017, a comprehensive investigation and a thorough review of the facts and evidence collected were presented to the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney. The Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney determined the use of deadly force and actions by Officer Yanda and Corporal Chattillion were justifiable and necessary, under applicable law, to defend Officer Yanda and others present from the imminent threat of death and serious bodily inquiry.

The Office of the Commonwealth Attorney's completed report was delivered to the Chief of Police, M. Jay Farr, on September 8, 2017. In order to maintain transparency in the community, the full report is provided.
