VIDEO: Board Chair Libby Garvey Discusses New Developments in Arlingt

Published on August 10, 2016

The Arlington County Board entered its August recess having addressed a number of significant issues, including park upgrades, grants for art initiatives, a site selection for Fire Station No. 8, and the approval of a $3.3 billion, 10-year infrastructure.

A full July agenda prompted the Board to hold a rare carryover meeting, in addition to the month's scheduled regular and recessed sessions.

In July, the Board also approved three new major development projects, including an amendment for a mixed-use building in the Founder's Square project in Ballston and 401 new apartments south of Columbia Pike.

Board Chair Libby Garvey, just as she does every month, visited Arlington TV studios to discuss these actions taken by the Board in July, while offering more background and information on the decision process, and how residents of Arlington might be affected.
