  • Tenant Relocation Payments: The County Board will consider the first increase since 2004 in payments to tenants who are displaced by housing demolition, substantial rehabilitation or conversion to non-residential use. The payments are made by property owners or developers, to assist with tenants' moving and moving-related costs. The Board adopted the County's first Tenant Relocation Guidelines in November 1979. Voluntary for all by-right development projects, the guidelines are required of all site plan and County-assisted projects. The developer is asking for changes to the conditions for the façade treatment of the office building, outdoor cafe areas and elements of the transportation management plan program. Among the requested changes, JBG is asking that to reduce the minimum clear width of sidewalks surrounding the site plan area from 12 feet to 8 feet, and increasing the maximum amount of outdoor café space within the Central Place plaza from a maximum of 770 square feet to 1,645 square feet. The residential building is scheduled to be completed in 2017 and the office building in 2018. To read the Staff Report, visit the County website.
