Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Attempted Sexual Assault Suspec

ARLINGTON, VA — The Arlington County Police Department's Special Victim's Unit is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating a suspect involved in the attempted sexual assault of a 27-year-old female victim. At approximately 2:30 a.m. on August 21, 2016, the female victim was walking along the Key Bridge when she observed the male subject walking towards her. Once they passed each other, the male subject grabbed her from behind and pulled her off the sidewalk towards the grass area and down by the George Washington Memorial Parkway. The suspect covered her mouth and attempted to place his hands under her shorts. The victim was able to break free from the suspect before he fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his late 20's to early 30's, approximately 5'8" to 5'10" with a medium build. He is described as having fair skin, dirty blonde hair and was clean shaven at the time of the incident. He was wearing a dark t-shirt with tan shorts or possibly pants. He was last seen fleeing the area on foot along the Key Bridge towards Washington D.C.
