Crime Solvers Tip Leads to Arrest of Malicious Wounding Suspect

ARLINGTON, Va. — On June 19, 2015, at approximately 8:23 p.m., Arlington County Police responded to the 2700 block of S. Lang Street for an assault with injury. The investigation revealed a subject had brandished a pocket knife and slashed the face of the victim following an argument. The victim sustained a significant facial laceration and was transported to George Washington Hospital where he underwent surgery for his injury.

Detectives from the Homicide/Robbery Unit identified a suspect and sought a warrant for malicious wounding. The suspect fled the area after the warrant was issued. In April 2016, an anonymous tip received through Arlington County Crime Solvers provided critical information leading to the apprehension of the suspect. On April 14, 2016 Tactical Unit officers with the assistance of the Alexandria Police Department took the suspect into custody without incident. Ramon Calderon, 24, of Alexandria VA was arrested and charged with malicious wounding.
