We want to ensure that Arlington County is a community that includes all its residents. Accommodations are available upon request.

County Board Meetings

Arlington County Government provides accommodations, e.g., sign language interpreters, CART, audio amplification systems, and large print materials, for qualified individuals with disabilities as described in the Americans with Disabilities Act. To arrange for an accommodation, please call the County Board office at 703-228-3130 (TTY 703-228-4611). Please make requests for accommodations at least 5 days prior to the meeting.

Translation services in Spanish are available at regular Saturday County Board Meetings from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Please see the Clerk or Deputy Clerk to the County Board at the meeting for assistance. For translation services for Consent Agenda and Public Hearing items, which are typically heard later than the above time, individuals are encouraged to call the Clerk or Deputy Clerk to the County Board at 703-228-3130 (TTY 703-228-4611) at least three (3) days prior to the meeting. Persons needing translation services in other languages are encouraged to call the Clerk or Deputy Clerk at least three (3) days prior to the meeting. Translation services are also available for recessed or special meetings if requested at least one day in advance by calling the Clerk or Deputy Clerk.

The webmaster will refer your request to the appropriate Department component. The component will respond promptly to you by providing you with an alternate format of the requested material. To enable us to respond in a manner that will be of most help to you, please indicate the nature of the accessibility problem, your preferred format (electronic format (ASCII, etc.), standard print, large print, etc.), the web address of the requested material, and your full contact information so we can reach you if questions arise while fulfilling your request.

Parks and Recreation

The Department of Parks and Recreation is committed to promoting positive participation by providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities upon request. We believe in providing opportunities in settings where people of all levels of ability can recreate and interact together.

We utilize a variety of approaches to promote and provide access and accommodations to facilities, programs, and services. Accommodations are based on individual needs and may include the following:

County Section 504/ADA Coordinator

Title II of the ADA requires all state or local government entities with 50 or more employees to appoint a responsible person to coordinate the administrative requirements of ADA compliance and to respond to complaints filed by the public. Arlington County's ADA Coordinator:

Filing an ADA Grievance

Any individual who believes he or she has been discriminated against by Arlington County Government on the basis of disability in the areas of physical access, program access, and/or communication access may file an ADA Grievance (PDF) (HTML) Complaints on behalf of classes of individuals are also permitted.

The information requested on this form (PDF) (HTML) must be filled in completely to help us expedite processing your complaint.
