USS Arlington Christened March 26, 2011The U.S. Navy christened its newest ship, the USS Arlington, on Saturday, March 26 in Pascagoula, Miss. The ship is on track to be commissioned in the fall of 2012.
The command staff of the USS Arlington -- Command Master Chief Lawrence M. Riccitiello, Commander Darren W. Nelson, and Executive Officer Brett C. Hershman, -- visited Arlington on December 11, 2010. They gave a shipbuilding update to the County Board and reported that the USS Arlington is now afloat.
