USS Arlington to be commissioned Fall, 2012

The USS Arlington will be formally commissioned in Norfolk, Virginia in the fall of 2012. In the meantime, you can learn more about the ship and read updates on the official Arlington (LPD 24) Commissioning Committee website. When the ship is commissioned, the committee will transition to the USS Arlington (LPD 24) Liaison Committee.

The U.S. Navy christened its newest ship, the USS Arlington, on Saturday, March 26 in Pascagoula, Miss. The ship is on track to be commissioned in the fall of 2012. 

USS Arlington Command Staff Visit Arlington

The command staff of the USS Arlington -- Command Master Chief Lawrence M. Riccitiello, Commander Darren W. Nelson, and Executive Officer Brett C. Hershman, -- came to visit Arlington on December 11, 2010. They gave a shipbuilding update to the County Board and reported that the USS Arlington is now afloat.
