Real Estate Tax Relief Program

The Arlington County Real Estate Tax Relief Program is for qualified homeowners who are age 65 and older or totally and permanently disabled.  Homeowners who meet the eligibility requirements will be excused from paying all or part of their real estate taxes. For more information:

Homeowner Grants The Arlington County Homeowner Grant Program has been eliminated. The County Board made this change in the FY 2011 budget to better reflect current need and steer resources to other housing programs. Details>>

Commissioner of Revenue: The Commissioner of Revenue's mission is to provide Arlington County residents and businesses high quality service in meeting their tax obligations by applying Virginia state and Arlington County tax laws with uniformity, fairness, and integrity.

Conservation Easements:

In some cases, conservation easements can lower real estate assessments, such as when the land is more valuable than the dwelling. More information about conservation easements is available from the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust.

Customer Advocate: The Customer Advocate assists customers in resolving problems with the Commissioner of Revenue by providing an independent review of their tax situation.
