The Department of Parks and Recreation is now strengthening family bonds through the power of play! Their newest family program, Families Unplugged, invites families to upgrade their downtime at monthly Saturday programs featuring a variety of topics—no outlets required. In the series, families will experience cooking, getting active, gardening, playing games, exploring nature, getting creative, or just plain having FUN together! December Families Unplugged Program Details: Learn healthy food tips and recipes to prepare nutritious & healthy holiday dishes together! We will also play some fun & educational nutrition games! Join us, Saturday, December 7th from 2:30-4:30pm at Fairlington Community Center and Saturday and December 14, from

|Family Skate Nights|
Join the crowd at Thomas Jefferson Center every Saturday night from now to March 29, 2014 (No skate on 11/30, 12/21 and 12/28). Most evenings start with Family Skating from 6:30-9pm and close with Teen Nights from 9-10:45pm. There is also a live D.J., $1.00 (cash only) moon bounces and the snacks from the café. |2013 Jingle Bell Run/Walk event|
The Arthritis Foundation will host the Jingle Bell Run/Walk fundraising event on Saturday, December 7th at 8:00am (registration opens as early as 6:45am) at Pentagon Row (1801 South Joyce Street, Arlington, VA 22202). To register online, go to www.jinglebellrunmetrodc.kintera.org.
