Disability Advisory CommissionThe Arlington Disability Advisory Commission is a 13-member citizen advisory group appointed by the County Board to direct community attention to the full range of needs of persons with physical disabilities, advise the County government on ways to meet the needs of persons with physical disabilities, and advise and assist the County government in seeking compliance with Federal and State legislative mandates. It also serves as Arlington County's Local Disability Services Board (LDSB) and in that role provides input to state agencies on service needs and priorities of persons with physical and sensory disabilities, and performs other duties as mandated. The Human Rights Commission holds primary responsibility to receive, investigate, and conciliate complaints from those who believe they have been victims of unlawful discrimination. This is a free public service. The Commission's investigative and hearing processes usually result in resolution of complaints. If necessary, however, the Commission can, with County Board approval, seek enforcement of its decisions in court. Learn More!
