Mission
The Department of Real Estate Assessments is responsible for the annual appraisal for ad valorem taxation of all locally assessed real property in Arlington County.
The Department's mission is to provide uniform assessments of real property for the equitable distribution of real estate taxes.
The Department achieves its mission by:
- Adhering to Virginia statutes, local ordinances, and best practices of appraisal and assessment administration;
Provide transparent, public access to information and processes; employing a competent, well-trained, professional staff; and
demanding the highest standard of ethical behavior of department employees.
