Parkland / Open Space Acquisition and Preservation Plan

Parkland / Open Space Acquisition and Preservation Plan

Arlington County is a geographically small, densely populated urban community with a growing population that highly values parks, open space and natural resources. Land is costly...and at a premium. How do we get where we need to go? The Parkland / Open Space Acquisition and Preservation Plan provides a framework to acquire parkland and open space and to preserve natural resources. The purpose (PDF) of developing a plan is to establish clear goals, criteria and strategies for Arlington County for the acquisition and preservation of public space for purposes of public recreation, natural resources protection, and environmental sustainability.
