Therapeutic Recreation – Lose The Training Wheels Camp is now iCan Bike!
iCan Bike is a camp designed to teach children with disabilities how to ride a two-wheeled bicycle. With their adapted bicycles, specialized instructional program, and trained staff and volunteers, we're able to get most participants up and riding on a two-wheel bicycle in 5 days. Riders attend a 75 minute session for 5 consecutive days where they practice riding while accompanied and encouraged by volunteer spotters. Over the course of the week, we adjust the bikes as the rider's skill and confidence improves. Typically, by Wednesday or Thursday, riders will 'launch' on two wheels and many end up riding their own bikes by the last day!

Take 6 minutes to see this Arlington County video of LTTW in 2011; it will give you a sense of the camp works. And how well it works!
We would like to thank our 2013 sponsors for supporting iCan Bike!
