Under the Virginia Constitution, the Treasurer is tasked with receiving, collecting, safeguarding, and disbursing county funds. As part of the "safeguarding" function, the Treasurer's Office invests those funds within the confines of the Code of Virginia and the Treasurer's Office Investment Policy.
