Gay and Lesbian Liaison Team (GLLT)

Welcome to Northern Virginia’s first law enforcement Gay and Lesbian Liaison Team.

What We’re All About

The Arlington County Police Department founded the GLLT to improve the relationship between the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) community and the Police Department.
Members of the unit are dedicated to serving the GLBT community within Arlington by:

  • Attending community events, civic meetings, government functions and other related events.
  • Visiting gay-owned and operated businesses, associations and other groups that seek the support or assistance of the GLLT.
  • Offering safety training tailored to the members of the GLBT community.
  • Operating an Arlington County Police Department recruiting and education booth at local pride festivals for both sworn and auxiliary police officers.
  • Documenting and tracking any reports taken within the GLBT community to help generate current crime statistics.
  • Following up and problem solving GLBT citizen concerns
  • Assisting GLBT citizens with police investigations

Who We Are

The team so far has five members, but we’re still growing.
