Volunteer opportunities abound in the Department of Parks and Recreation. You can volunteer as an aide in an adapted aquatics class, be special events assistant, help to remove invasive plants from our parks, lead a 4-H club, lead senior adults on bus excursions, and much, much more.

Summer Camp Volunteers
We are now accepting applications for Summer Camp Volunteers. If you are (or know) an enthusiastic, capable, responsible young person between the ages of 13 and 18 who is looking for a great summer volunteer opportunity, please check out our Summer Camp Volunteer web page.

Arlington Mill Senior Center
The Arlington Mill Senior Center needs volunteers for a variety of fun activities like teaching Spanish, billiards, or how to use the latest tech gadgets. Click on "Search for Opportunities" to see all of the volunteer positions available at our newest recreation center.

Visual Art Volunteer
Creative individuals needed to develop and provide instruction for sessions of art projects to groups at Parks and Recreation community centers. Volunteer will work collaboratively with the Community Arts Programmer and lending office to learn a prepared art project kit and then administer/facilitate art activity to a group.

Adapted Swimming
This is a learn to swim program for individuals age 3 to adult with developmental disabilities. "Buddies" are needed to assist one on one with participants in the water. Commitment to entire session (10 weeks) is preferred. The Spring Sessions begin on Wednesday, April 30 or Sunday, May 4.
