Arlington Mill Community Center

Public Private Partnership Background

A public meeting was held October 10, 2007 during which the public-private partnership proposal was presented and explained to the community. PPA’s design team shared site plan concept that depicted how the different civic, retail and residential components would be located and relate to one another. The designers also presented height and massing studies of the proposed two buildings. The building which fronts Columbia Pike will contains retail at the street, a multi-level community center on its lower floors, and apartments on the upper floors. The building at the back of the site is completely rental apartments. Affordable housing units will be scattered throughout the residential components in both buildings. Two levels of underground parking are planned: one to serve the community center and the other level for residents.
